Mattison's Big Horn Ranch Page
On Day 4 was our "Camping Adventure Day" we packed up the Dormobile and Uncle Jeff drove me and Travis out to camp and hunt at the Big Horn Ranch.
It was about 2 hours away.
When we got there we set up our stuff in a plywood shed.
We cooked hotdogs for dinner and then I told Uncle Jeff it would be a good idea if we all had a cold beer and smoked a Cuban cigar. So we did.
Then we went to bed but could not fall asleep because a man with a hook instead of a hand and a big machete kept trying to break into our shed to chop us up....but that's too long a story so I will skip it.
On Day 5, was our "Hunting Adventure Day" so we got up at 5:00 and cooked breakfast, I took a dump on the ground, but Uncle Jeff made me clean it up, then we packed all of our crap up and then went killin'.
We hiked around for miles, we climbed a shear cliff and as we were sliding down ravines and falling into the bushes, Uncle Jeff was saying "Don't scratch my rifle!"
After a couple miles, Then I found a ram that I wanted to shoot, so I shot it. It was really big for the kind of ram it was. It is called a Corsican Ram. They are from the West Indies.
Then we went and ate lunch and had a few cold beers, then we went back out and Travis shot a big sheep. It was about 200 pounds. We had to drag it about a mile down a fricking mountain. Uncle Jeff told us we needed to drag it but after ten minutes we only moved it about 20 feet, so Uncle Jeff had to drag it the rest of the way.
We climbed through trees and stuff and finally got it to the road where we hitched a ride back up to camp.
Then we skinned the rams. Pretty bloody, really dirty, smelled xackly (xackly like my butt) and probably it was the grossest thing I have ever seen. It didn't seem to bother Travis.
Then we packed up all the meat, cut off the ball sack to make a wallet and then we drove home.
On the way home we stopped in a Mexican restaurant and ate cow nipples. It was called tripas tacos
